The fantastic:
- Did Obama really win? OMG, we're gonna have an intelligent, well-spoken president again? Someone that foreigners actually like? Someone that we can like, and maybe respect?
- I don't care that things will be really, really, really awful in the next few years. It's not Obama's fault, but the fault of what's-his-face and everyone else who cashed out while we bankrupted as a country. In fact, things would be just as bad if McCain won. But worse, 'cause we'd inevitably have extra problems caused by McCain and his my-mouth-is-open-but-I'm-not-saying-anything-of-value VP, Palin.
- Never underestimate the power of hope. It's harder to achieve, but much, much more rewarding and motivating than living under the current regime of fear (aka Homeland "Security").
- Did Californians really pass a proposition to change the constitution to specify that marriage is between a man and a woman only? Effectively banning gay marriage? Seriously? For all those who voted "yes" for proposition 8, I have the following musical responses for you:
