If I were to caption the picture above, it would go something like, "---> Insert food here!"
Enjoy some photos from a family portrait that took place on Saturday at the Burlingame Caltrain / Downtown area. I loved the diversity of the settings there. What else did I love more? That everyone involved was totally, totally game to do whatever to get some fun and random shots. Some of my faves:

Sittin' on the train tracks. Unfortunately, trains do come here, so I didn't want to have her lie on the tracks or something.... yeah, I know. I'm chicken. But there's something about people making it out alive of my photo shoots that I strive for - each and every time. Call me old-fashioned....

Relaxed portraits. Gotta love them. Simple and sweet.

Oh the sweetness.

I love it when something random happens and real laughter ensues. There's nothing quite like it. (The story is, I asked them to "hold hands" and it looked like they were going to shake hands instead. When I pointed this out, laughter erupted and I tried to shake my hands minimally as I chuckled along.)

The whole family.

I just really enjoyed this moment. The black-and-white captures the we're-in-a-make-up-store feel beautifully, I think.

Love the colorful bottles.

As if there were any questions about who ruled the house...?

Adorable, aren't they? Like 16-year-olds again. (;

This was the first time I had people along with me for a shoot with clients. I was joined by Jeff and Thuy, who wanted to see a pro at work (I chuckled a bit there, what kind of professional calls herself a professional, right? Oh well, that's better than using quotes around pro to undermine myself!). Check out a couple of Thuy's shots (link | link). (I have some serious photo-envy of this shot. The composition is so money!) It's amazing how you can have the same subjects, but two different photographers will approach it very differently. Yes, friends, that's what I call "style". Looking at Thuy's photos made me wonder if I get a little bit, umm, too close to clients sometimes (physically). (:
Check out Jeff's shot of me at work (I think I'm smiling while shooting...? awesome!):

A big hearty thanks to all involved. I personally had a great time on Saturday!
