Sure, you can pay $5 for a no-frills food experience and similarly you can pay $500 for someone to photograph your entire wedding and then give you all of the images on DVD without ever seeing them again, but that experience isn't what I'm after in providing my photography services. (I do indulge in the $5 meal, though, and sometimes they're so fabulous. But, I mean, I eat at least twice a day, seven days a week and I'd estimate that most people have about, oh, one wedding per lifetime and not more than two or three portrait sessions a year.) For me, the experience is about making you comfortable, building your trust, making you genuinely happy, and providing you with the best product that I can.
I've been obsessed with Thomas Keller since I got home from dinner last night. Today, I browsed through every single page of The French Laundry website and I found this little gem:
