Golden!

If you're ever at a loss for where to donate money (be it $20 or $1,000,000), I think animal shelters are always a great, deserving place of your support. (If you're looking for a specific shelter, consider the Humane Society of Silicon Valley.)

They had their annual Fur Ball on 4/25 and I volunteered to take some photos. Enjoy some pictures of the dogs partying it up, who just happen to be golden (in color, and sometimes in breed). The people there were true animal lovers who were putting their money where their mouth was. Mad props to them. (I reserve a very special spot in my heart for animal-lovers.)

Amanda & Matt

Meet Amanda and Matt. We met up for portraits on Sunday at Santa Clara University. I'm not feeling too awfully wordy tonight so I'll let the pictures pour out with words on my behalf. Enjoy.

San Francisco Film Festival

It's going on now! I remember once upon a time I loved watching movies. I still do, but it's hard to say it with conviction when it's taken me almost two weeks to finally finish watching The Bridge. (In my defense, it's a movie about people jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge and I haven't been in the happiest of moods.)

So, with that said, I'm making it a triple-feature on Sunday 5/3 to watch the following films:
I'll be sure to let you know how the films go. Or, if you're in the area and want to catch the flick together, just let me know.

These are the ones that are maybe's:
And, if you're available on 5/2 (Saturday), you should definitely catch 500 Days of Summer.

Dogfest 2009

I briefly checked out Dogfest 2009 on Saturday. Can you believe they auctioned off an on-site visit at Mythbusters? I put in an earnest $160 bid, but it quickly went $230+ and I relented.

A couple pictures:

Dogfest
I'm a big schnauzer fan. Maybe it's because I've always loved playing Monopoly? (Yes, I realize the Monopoly dog is a "Scottie," but I've always thought - based on the tiny little game piece - that it was a schnauzer.) This was pretty much the most well-behaved and adorable doggeh ever. *heart*

This picture just reminds me of one of my favorite lines by Jay Chou (Adorable Woman):
"The world is so big yet I am small like a little ant / But I want to use all my strength to protect you."

I smiled like an idiot the whole time I was there. I love dogs. The silly way that they express their unadulterated love and unending loyalty to their guardians... I envy the devotion, actually.

Short City Walk

I went on a 3-hour walk around the 'hood in The City (San Francisco, that is). A few tallies for your general amusement:
  • 2 interesting panhandler signs: "Karma repays" and "My wife was taken hostage and I'm 99-cents short of ransom."
  • 1 icky catcall. I know, who still catcalls nowadays? And no, I didn't walk by a construction site, either.
  • 1 guy who drove to the waterfront, parked his little sports car from the '80's, then proceeded to roller-skate wearing nothing but some very, very tight and very, very short-shorts. Why yes, he was in shape, but that's not really the point now, is it?
  • 39,018 pigeons
  • 2 ads for WhyIslam.com on buses
  • $18 spent on lunch (blog + photos forthcoming)
  • And 1 man urinating in public in broad daylight. I'm surprised there was only one.
That is all for now. Oh, and a general observation about my relation to one of the gayest cities in the world: I can't tell the difference between metrosexual guys and homosexual guys. At all.

Some B&W Action

Our Presidential Portrait

These two are getting married on Independence Day this year, and I'm so lucky to be their wedding photographer. Jaw-dropping hotness aside, they're super friendly and sweet. A triple-threat, if you will. (:

I really love these three images because they all have such a different tone, but, I think, all capture their connection beautifully. That's my biased opinion, of course.

Happiness!

More photos of these two to come. My apologies for the lack of post (not for lack of rants and raves, mind you, I've just been busy with a little thing I call my "personal life"). Hang tight for blog posts I've yet to come up with, but will write for your amusement because the world needs more lighthearted entertainment and fewer wars!
