Korean: Epic Fail

So I took a whole two semesters of Korean at UC Berkeley and all I remember how to say is "hello" (an yong ha say-o; you're welcome! I just saved you countless $$$ in tuition, yo!). Seriously. Want proof of my ridiculously poor Korean skills? Check it!

My Korean is ATROCIOUS

What's going on here is that I needed to translate the Korean into English. My translation: The elephant is very big. The actual translation: The duty that's given to me is very big. So close. So, so close.

And I didn't even get any extra credit for the cute little accompanying elephant doodle!?! Harsh. (:

Happy Mother's Day!

She gave me life, a happy home, her smile, her wit, her intelligence, and, alas, her height. I'm forever thankful for all those things and more. (:

And have a wonderful Mother's Day to all the mothers (biological, adoptive, and otherwise) everywhere!

A Letter to the Universe At Large Regarding My Right Shoe

Dear Universe,

I was at Tao nightclub in Las Vegas with my friends on Sunday, 5/3/2009, dancing the night away like good sinners ought to do. I took off my heels to wear my friend's spare flip-flops. And when I returned to retrieve my heels when we were about to leave, I found only my left shoe.

There really would be no huge problem if, say, the pair were missing. I'd get over it. But that only the right shoe is missing is annoying because no one benefits from this at all unless it was a one-legged woman who took it!

With that said, I would like Left and Right to be reunited. This isn't about true love or finding the one. Bottom-line: THE PAIR BELONG TOGETHER.

Make it happen, Universe. I have faith in you.

Love,
One Shoed Girl

P.S.

Silent Blog

Seriously neglected this baby, and I blame it on having too much on my mind. It's ridiculous, actually. But let me start this baby up again because it deserves the loving.

And on that brief note, I would like to say that my favorite album right now is a 6-song shortie from 2004: Jay-Z and Linkin Park's Collision Course. Pretty disturbingly graphic lyrics, but I'm learning so much about pimpin' and hustlin' from Jay-Z.... (:
