The Coffee Ritual

Ever since my roommate introduced her coffeemaker to the household at large, I've been brewing my own coffee at home. I also have a little Bodum French Press that I inherited, but there's something about the coffee machine that I've always loved.

So, 1/4-cup of grounds and 2 cups of water (tap all the way! mostly because we don't have a water filter... :D). Once it's done, about one tablespoon of organic brown sugar and enough creamer until it's a light brown color and....

Enjoy!

P.S.
I'm not lactose intolerant or anything, but it's hard to live in San Francisco without being bombarded by vegans who'll try to talk you out of eating dairy, especially from big farm machines that don't treat their cows well and pump them full of antibiotics, etc. I don't know if I'll ever give up cheese (gasp!), but here, Vegans of the World, here is my delicious compromise to you! (And yes, the SO Delicious coconut milk product is, for the most part, quite delicious!)

  1. I am crazy nuts for So Delicious Coconut Milk Creamer, especially the French Vanilla flavor. Wait until you try their coconut milk ice cream—it's so good, you'll never eat dairy ice cream again! Cheese is typically the hardest thing for people quitting dairy products to give up. But believe me, once you stop eating it for about three or four weeks, you won't crave it anymore, and some of the new vegan substitutes (like Daiya Vegan Cheese), will taste surprisingly wonderful to your taste buds!

  2. And they rightfully should talk you out of contributing to the horrible practice of producing dairy ;) Thanks for the post!

  3. @Melanie - I'm almost certain that I can give up cheese if I want to. The big leap is to actually want to.... :)

    To each its own, eh?

I totally agree with you on the ice cream, though. I've got the chocolate almond bars in my fridge right now and it's so fantastic. I wish they had more flavors!!!
