3-on-3 #15: Everything's Not Lost

Here are a few quotes that popped into my head this week:
  • “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Lao Tzu
  • "...for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." Hamlet
  • “Money never made a man happy yet, nor will it. The more a man has, the more he wants. Instead of filling a vacuum, it makes one.” Benjamin Franklin
When I was a kid/tween/teen, I was always amazed at the mess generated by my family's dinners. With 2 parents, 6 kids, 4 spouses, and 10 tiny ones, we used a lot of pots, pans, plates, bowls, and utensils to feed everyone for one big meal when we got together. What was equally amazing was how quickly things were cleaned up after we were done with dinner. If one person was in charged of rinsing and another of clearing the table, the task was done so quickly.

I suppose that's why I love Lao Tzu's quote so much. Sure, any task can look really daunting (e.g. BIG SINK OF DIRTY DISHES) before you tackle it, but just take a little step and eventually you'll get where you need to go. In this case, toward a clean kitchen for my parents. :)
