Hello! I have been shooting people with Canons since 2007. I'm a closet optimist and romantic with a dry wit and a silver tongue. I love strong coffee and dark chocolate, and enjoy a slow-paced life with my human and furry BFF's. Welcome to my little site!

You Are An Epic Flower

This flower just brightens up my day. It looks like it's stretching up toward the sky. And why shouldn't it? That's where the best views are....

Veggie Piggy

I'd walked by this place on several occasions until my friend recommended that I tried their sandwiches. It's really close to my place, too. So, on a random foggy day, D and I split "The Vegi" sandwich from Wooly Pig Cafe.

The Vegi consists of, "goat cheese, organic roasted beets, french beans, spring mix, sherry vinaigrette on ciabatta" ($6).

Verdict? DELICIOUS! I can't wait to try the other sandwiches.

And on that note, I hope your weekend is sandwiched in between slices of awesome and filled to the brim with yum.

Rainbow Cuteness

I got this cute dessert from Whole Foods around the time of the Pride Parade in San Francisco. I said that I would never jump on the whoopie pie bandwagon and guess what? I'm not hopping on this dessert bandwagon. It's SUPER ADORABLE! But the taste is just so-so.

This little collage TOOK FOREVER to put together because I really, really wanted rainbow-colored text. And when I "really, really want" something, I google relentlessly until I find the answer I want to see (read: easy-to-do and practical). The thing with Photoshop is that there are always multiple ways to accomplish the task you set out to do and I bet there are "experts" out there who do things a certain way - and it's done perfectly - only to find out that there's a much easier way to do it that they never realized.

Such is life.

Whoopie on!

An Engagement Session

Jane is one of my nearest and dearest friends. She's also Liliana's coworker (and dear friend). So when she found out about Liliana's wedding, she wondered about what to get her as a gift. And she decided to gift me!

Yay! I love being given! :)

I absolutely recommend engagement sessions for a number of reasons. Most people aren't supermodels (go figure) with cameras in their faces all the time, so it's actually nice to practice getting comfortable in front of the camera. Plus, it's just a fun adventure! You get to go to random places that you may or may not have been to before and you get it all documented with your beloved at your side. I know, how awesome, right?

I had a great time with these two and am so happy I was able to document their love for one another!

Congratulations, you two!

Tangled

This scene in the movie Tangled was really pretty. I thought the movie overall was pretty good - it was entertaining and at least had a compelling story line. Whenever I watch Disney films, I cringe a little at the subliminal bits of sexism that inevitably takes place. BLAME IT ON BERKELEY. :)

Anyway, this was my last DVD from Netflix, and it gets a 3-star rating.

Coffee & Love

I had a wonderful engagement session on Saturday that ended at Grove Cafe, where Seamus proposed to Liliana. They're a really cool couple and I will happily share images from their engagement session very soon! Stay tuned!

xoxo Chung Nguyen, Miss Vietnam; Actress & Model xoxo

I was googling myself (pause for judgment and joke about how you should always do this in private, which I was) and I stumbled upon a Chung Nguyen who, I will have to concede, is probably the sexiest Chung Nguyen I've e-encountered. I present to you, Miss Vietnam (from the 2009 "Miss Supranational" pageant):

P.S.
And I'm only 152.40cm tall.

P.P.S.
Do people (other than me) still google themselves? Don't leave me hanging, party people!

3-on-3 #20.2: Goodbyes

Things I've said and am saying goodbye to:
  • My previous Lenovo/IBM ThinkPad T60p laptop. You served me well and took those bread crumbs that inevitably got stuck between the "N" and "M" keys like a champ. Sure, it may seem like I replaced you with a younger, newer you, but think about it more in terms of you being a trailblazer. I loved you as much as a woman could love her laptop, which was pretty much an unhealthy dependency on technology and the occasional bouts of anthropomorphism. I.e., true love. Clearly. Goodbye, dear friend. You served me well.
  • My 3-on-3 list has come to its end. I wanted to use it as a vehicle to keep me blogging consistently. A month of blog silence later, clearly, it had failed. Plus, I was tired of the theme anyway. So, this is the last 3-on-3 and it's posted on a Monday!
  • Finally, goodbye, Netflix. I know I used your instant streaming about 50 times more frequently than I watched DVDs. Hell, I held onto The A-Team DVD FOR TWO WEEKS. Even though I was actually really, really excited to watch it (Bradley Cooper, anyone?). But the thought of sacrificing the thrilling excitement of receiving a disc in the mail was a bummer. And, let's face it, I don't want to pay 60% more than I already currently do. Honestly, though, I think the true undoing of it all for me was the fact that there was so much hubbub about the price increase that I made the FATAL MISTAKE of actually checking my account to see how much I've paid over the years. You never want to do this with any subscription-based service because the realization always goes, "I SPENT HOW MUCH ON DVDS AND STREAMING WHOSE WEDDING IS IT ANYWAY??? ZOMG!" Yeah.... It's a temporary goodbye, but a goodbye nonetheless. I think when I get more settled, I'll give it another go. And hopefully the streaming library will be better and I won't feel like I'm missing out by not getting DVDs in the mail. OK, who am I kidding? DVDs in the mail rock!
Au revoir.
